01Welcome
Welcome. You are now a Musicphonetics student, which means you have a teacher who believes in you and a whole institution that wants you to succeed. This guide is yours.
02Musicphonetics Culture
We are musicians who take our craft seriously and enjoy it deeply. We work hard, we are kind to one another, and we are proud of every bit of progress — our own and our friends'.
03Respect
Respect your teacher, your instrument, your time, and yourself. Listen carefully, ask questions freely, and give every lesson your attention.
04Practice Routine
Practise a little every day rather than a lot once a week. Short, focused sessions are the secret. Do the practice your teacher sets, and bring your questions to the next lesson.
05Concert Behaviour
At concerts we support every performer. We listen quietly, clap warmly, and cheer for one another. When it is your turn, you walk on with confidence, play your best, and finish with a bow.
06Learning Goals
You will always know what you are working toward. Set goals with your teacher, track your progress, and celebrate each one you reach.
07Exam Preparation
When you are ready, you may take a Trinity College London graded exam. We will prepare you fully so that you walk in knowing exactly what to do.
08Community
You are part of a community of students who play, perform, and grow together. Encourage one another — music is more joyful when it is shared.
09Awards
We celebrate effort, improvement, and performance with certificates and awards. Progress is always recognised here.
10Code of Conduct
Be on time, be prepared, be kind, and be honest about your practice. Treat people and instruments with care. That is all it takes to be a great Musicphonetics student.
